Building Efficiency Accelerator launched it new website with resources for cities

The Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA) is a public-private partnership which goal is to facilitate the implementation of building efficiency policies and program, by making them more clearly visible.

The online platform facilitates access of cities to a global expertise in building efficiency topics and allow communication for engagement with private sector partners.

The BEA process of engagement in a city includes guidance and technical advice to:

  • Assess and prioritize locally-appropriate building efficiency policies and actions
  • Implement actions, matching city needs with available expertise, technical resources and tools
  • Track action and documenting progress, and share lessons learned
  • Increase ambition for improving the overall efficiency of the building stock.

The BEA provides member cities with building efficiency resources developed by its expert network. These reports, case studies, databases, and tools provide guidance to BEA cities on a variety of building efficiency topics, from implementing energy codes to retrofitting commercial buildings. Cities will establish their priority policies and activities, and the partnership will connect them to technical and engagement resources linked to those priorities.

The website also provides an interactive map, which display partner cities profile, their prioritized policies and their selected projects.

This map also contains market feedback from local stakeholders across the building efficiency market, including government, civil society, and the private sector. Participants provided their perspectives on a set of potential building efficiency actions in their local markets.
