Follow-up on the Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference

The Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference was organised on 20-21 February 2018. Its primary goal was to bring together a wide array of stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in the implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), to explore new areas of action and to share the first achievements of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform.

On Day 1, over 650 attendees actively participated in the debates; it was also followed extensively via webstream (more than 2500 viewers) and raised high interactivity on the social media. The final phase on the implementation of the CEAP will benefit from such a wealth of inputs. On Day 2, over 300 participants focused on the exchange of good practices. Spread over 16 Participatory Circles, participants shared knowledge about Circular Economy partnerships, re-manufacturing, green finance, and explored practical solutions and thought-provoking ideas on extended producer responsibility, the risks and rewards of circularity for SMEs, and the impact of the circular economy on workers and consumers.

As a follow-up to the conference, the video recordings of Day 1's sessions can be found in the event's webpage. The videos will remain available for two years. The highlights of Day 2 will also be made available soon.

The biographies of the speakers of the conference are available here and the participants' list is available here

The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform now has its website where stakeholders are invited to actively contribute beyond the yearly conference by uploading their good practices, expertise, strategies and voluntary commitments for making the economy more circular. The website will keep expanding and developing new, user-friendly and interactive features in order to foster dialogue and knowledge exchange across the circular economy community.
