ECTP Policy & Project Officer - vacancy notice

Applications (motivation letter + CV) must be sent to the ECTP Secretary General at by 26th January 2022. Short-listed candidates will be contacted for interviews in Brussels and/or by Zoom.

Working in interactions with the ECTP Secretary General team (composed of 3 other persons) and with the many ECTP Members or partners, the Project & Policy Officer is in particular in charge of the main following activities:

Responsible for the operational execution of the EU projects (most of them being Coordination and Support Actions) where ECTP is involved (ongoing projects on 1st Jan 2022 are: Metabuilding, SmartBuilt4EU, BIGG, Metabuilding Labs  - with another project that should start late Q1 or early Q2 2022):

  • Support networking / community building.
  • Lead, organise, and coordinate all activities related to Work Packages where ECTP is involved as WP leader, Task leader or partner.
  • Support other activities contributing to the project execution (research work, data collection and analysis…) and selection / management of ECTP experts for dedicated activities inside the projects. Support to communication and dissemination activities, including the organization of events & workshops, the coordination of the project partners’ related activities and the representation of the projects during conferences/event.
  • Participate to or lead strategic discussions on the project implementation with the project partners and/or with EC representatives.

Internal and external communication and events

  • Identify relevant news and events for the ECTP Members.
  • Deliver news for the ECTP website.
  • Contribute to feed all communication media, including the ECTP social networks.
  • Participate to internal meetings such as General Assembly, Steering Committee meetings, meetings of the various experts Committees – potentially invited to make presentations and contribute to minutes and summary reports.

Contribution to key ECTP activities

  • Participate to the elaboration of potential strategic roadmaps and R&I agendas.
  • Coordinate the work towards drafting ECTP position papers.
  • Proactively inform members on technical aspects, including swift replies to questions.
  • Create and maintain positive contacts with relevant European Commission services.
  • Represent ECTP in relevant initiatives, working groups and task forces where ECTP is involved.


  • You have a PhD or Master degree level in engineering or in Business and/or Communication Sciences.
  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant position – with a proven track-record in effectively managing working groups of varied composition.
  • You demonstrate high communications skills in English (fluency in writing and speaking), and preferably French too. Any additional language welcome.
  • You have a good knowledge of the European institutions.
  • You have an interest in the construction sector and the built environment, and in R&D and innovation activities.
  • You can quickly grasp information on technical issues.
  • You are fully digital proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, collaborative working platforms, online conference tools and Web technologies).
  • You are proactive and are able to work on an autonomous manner.
