ECTP Project Officer (location: Brussels) - vacancy notice

ECTP was launched by the different public and private stakeholders of the Construction and Built Environment sectors in 2004 to develop new Research, Development & Innovation strategies to improve competitiveness and take up environmental challenges. Working closely with the European Commission (EC) in the framework of the Built4People Partnership under the Horizon Europe FP, the ECTP is recognized as a key European industrial stakeholders’ forum and a one-stop shop for European collaborative R&D vision and roadmapping. With more than 140 international member-organizations from the whole supply chain of the Built Environment (large companies, SMEs, research centres, universities, federations), ECTP offers its Members various services and benefits: participation in the definition of the European Strategic Research Agendas, access to knowledge, resource and expertise on European research programmes, opportunities for networking, training and development. ECTP also participates in European collaborative (H2020) projects of strategic importance in the domain of European Digital platforms, Big Data in Construction, Smart Buildings, development of innovations clusters and labs, affordable/social housing, structuration of cross-border/sector innovation ecosystems, etc.

The Co-Programmed Built4People (B4P) Partnership provides a cross-cluster structure bringing together public and private sectors to nurture Research and Innovation pathways based on a holistic view of the design, creation, operation, renovation and recycling of the built environment. It provides a comprehensive framework and set of objectives to shape a fully sustainable and high-quality living and working environment, infrastructure for active mobility and clean energy solutions of the future, mitigating climate change and adapting to it through increased resilience for the benefit of all end-users in Europe.

Working in interactions with the ECTP Secretary General team (composed of 4 other persons) and with the many ECTP Members or partners, the Project Officer is in charge of the main following activities:

Contribution to the operation of the Built4People (B4P) Partnership

  • Participate to the elaboration and update of the B4P SRIA (Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda), as well as the assessment of the B4P KPIs (Key performance Indicators).
  • Participate to the activities undertaken by the B4P Management team (formed by ECTP and the European Regional Network of the World Green Building Council), including collaboration with the B4P Partnership Board and organising meetings with its members - proactively informing members on technical and strategic aspects.

Responsible for the operational execution of the EU project NEBULA (Coordination and Support Action – GA 101079859
– Starting date: 1st October 2022) where ECTP is involved:

  • Lead, organise, and coordinate all activities related to Work Packages where ECTP is involved as WP leader, Task leader or partner.
  • Support other activities contributing to the project execution (research work, data collection and analysis…) and selection / management of ECTP experts for dedicated activities inside the projects, as well as support networking / community building.
  • Support to communication and dissemination activities, including the organization of events & workshops, the coordination of the project partners’ related activities and the representation of the projects during conferences/events.
  • Participate to or lead strategic discussions on the project implementation with the project partners and/or with EC representatives.
  • Represent ECTP in relevant initiatives, working groups and task forces where ECTP is involved.


  • You have a PhD or Master degree level in engineering or in Business and/or Communication Sciences.
  • You have 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant position – with a proven track-record in effectively managing working groups of varied composition.
  • You demonstrate high communications skills in English (fluency in writing and speaking), and preferably French too. Any additional language welcome.
  • You have a good knowledge of the European institutions.
  • You have an interest in the construction sector and the built environment, and in R&D and innovation activities.
  • You can quickly grasp information on technical issues.
  • You are fully digital proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, collaborative working platforms, online conference tools and Web technologies).
  • You are proactive and able to work on an autonomous manner.


  • A full-time work contract under Belgian law in a motivating collaborative environment, starting on January 1, 2023 for a period of 2 years.
