The European Council for Construction Research, Development and Innovation (ECCREDI):
The aim of ECCREDI is to contribute to the competitiveness, quality, safety and environmental performance of the construction sector and to the overall sustainability of the built environment, by increasing the extent and effectiveness of construction research, technical and process development as well as innovation.

ENCORD's main objective is to be Europe's forum for the promotion of industry-led research, development and innovation in the construction sector.

E-CORE: The Thematic Network E-CORE 'European Construction Research Network' has as general objective to promote the development of European networking in order to achieve a better co- ordination of efforts and a more rapid diffusion of results so as to ensure that research activity generates real innovation for construction and related industries.

ERABUILD (Strategic cooperation between national programmes promoting sustainable construction and operation of buildings) aims at having a major impact on creating the European Research Area (ERA) in research on sustainable development in the construction and operation of buildings. A step towards this aim is planning and preparing a trans-national R&D programme in the area. A short term goal for the project is the development of a learning network.

ITA is an Association the aiming at encouraging the use of the subsurface for the benefit of public, environment and sustainable development, and promoting advances in planning, design, construction, maintenance and safety of tunnels and underground space, by bringing together information thereon and by studying questions related thereto.

"L-surF" , which stands for Large Scale Underground Research Facility, is a European Union funded feasibility study on safety and security of enclosed underground spaces. L-surF is a joint initiative by some of Europe’s leading institutions on safety and security of underground spaces. In due time, L-surF will bundle the strengths of the initiating partners, providing a full range of services, which besides full scale testing includes training and education and also act as integrating nucleus for pan European activities on safety and security in underground spaces.

i-Stone "Re-Engineering of Natural Stone Production Chain through Knowledge Based Processes, Eco-Innovation and new Organisational Paradigms"
The aim of the I-STONE project is the re-engineering of the stone production chain, in order to considerably increase its efficiency and productivity, minimise the amount of stone wastes disposed, produce a new generation of multifunctional products based on stone wastes and safeguard quality in stone application and use.

Manubuild - "Open Building Manufacturing" , is an industry-led collaborative research project on Industrialised Construction, part-funded by the EU under Framework 6. Commencing in April 2005, it is a 4-year project involving 25 partners from 10 countries across Europe.

TunConstruct is a multi-disciplinary research project that promotes the development and implementation of European technological innovation in underground construction. Bustling at its core is the vigorous participation of some of Europe´s best recognized names in the underground engineering industry.

I3CON is an integrated research project partly funded by European Commission under the VI Framework Programme involving 26 partners from 15 different countries. I3CON will enable the transformation towards a sustainable European construction industry delivering Industrially produced, Integrated processes and Intelligent building systems by means of distributed control systems and new business models focused on the building lifecycle.

Synergy+: Portal of Small and Medium size Enterprises of the Distributed Energy Resources sector to access the European funds for research and development.
The SYNERGY initiative was born in 2003 when the project proposal led by fundación LABEIN was selected by the experts mandated by the European Commission. After the usual negotiation phase, the project was contracted and kicked.off in May 2004.
The SYNERGY project aimed at enhancing the participation of the Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the Distributed Energy Resources (DER) sector in the new instruments offered by the European 6th FrameWork Programme (FP6), Integrated Projects (IPs) and Networks of Excellence (NoEs). Last but not least, STREPs, CRAFTs and Collective Research Projects are also instruments which can help SMEs in the DER area. This project was funded by the European Commission under the 'Research and Innovation' work programme, as an 'Economic and Technological Intelligence' (ETI) action, a vital component of competitive research & innovation strategies in the knowledge-based economy.
