This interactive workshop will explore cutting-edge innovations transforming the way construction and demolition waste (CDW) is traced, characterized, and reused. It will present breakthrough methods that combine a wide range of data sources – such as satellite imagery, CCTV, on-site sensors, and drones – to develop AI-driven techniques for accurately identifying and quantifying CDW. You’ll also discover how advanced vision technologies, including infrared thermography and hyperspectral imaging, uncover material properties of concrete, bricks, tiles, wood, and more, far beyond what the human eye can detect. 
 
Building on these insights, the SYNER platform, which integrates data and optimization algorithms to identify and rank the most promising valorization strategies for CDW across the construction sector and related industries, will be introduced. 
This systematic approach empowers stakeholders to enhance resource efficiency, close material loops, and create real value from materials that would otherwise go to waste.
