Policy co-creation workshop on WASTE in the framework of the IMPACT-SC5 project, 11 May 2021 (online)

What has been the impact of Horizon 2020 projects in minimising the production of waste and reusing waste as a resource? And how can policy actions create and stimulate the desired impacts in the fields of science, society and the economy?

These questions will be addressed by the IMPACT-SC5 project in the context of a Policy co-creation workshop to be held on-line on the 11th of May, from 10:00 to 12:20 CET.

The IMPACT-SC5 project “Assessing the impact pathways of IA/RIA SC5 projects through the use of portfolio analysis” (GA No. 869746) reviews the scientific, societal, environmental and economic impacts of the 87 RIAs and IAs funded under the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 – Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials – Work Programme 2014-2015, as well as its supplementary Work Programmes and calls.

Within this framework, the objectives of the workshop are twofold:

  • to discuss the results of our analysis regarding the WASTE related projects funded by Horizon 2020 under Societal Challenge 5:Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials (SC5); and
  • to collectively identify how policy on national and European level can facilitate the enhancement of SC5 impacts’ diffusion and uptake across the EU.
