COGITO Press Release & Stakeholders Requirements Survey

Construction phase digital twin model (COGITO) is a project that started in November 2020 with funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The COGITO project aims to establish a Digital Construction 4.0 toolbox that integrates: reality capture technology to collect data capturing the actualstate of operations from construction sites; Building Information Models (BIMs) initially containing design and planning information and subsequently augmented with as-built data; and innovative integrated data management and software solutions to optimise site operations.

The COGITO Digital Construction 4.0 Toolbox will effectively deliver a “DigitalTwin” of construction operations and employ it for improving performance interms of safety, quality, schedule and cost. The reality capture tools will includedigital cameras, laser scanning, and resource tracking sensors.
