The EU-funded SMARTeeSTORY project proposes an innovative multi-domain methodology to monitor and optimise non-residential historic buildings’ energy performance. The approach integrates smart readiness indicator domains such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, or HVAC, dynamic façade, lighting and electric vehicle charging. This system has been developed to automatically identify and classify different archetypes of building users, along with their specific preferences. SMARTeeSTORY ensures the incorporation of interoperable and cyber-secure software and hardware solutions. These solutions play a pivotal role in optimising the operation of technical building systems, facilitating adaptation to external environmental factors and adjusting to changing conditions based on occupants’ requirements.
The project will demonstrate the system in three demo sites in Latvia, Spain and the Netherlands.
List of achievements
In pursuit of creating holistic positive energy buildings, REN+HOMES will develop and/or upgrade affordable key technologies (KTs) to create highly replicable technology packages (TPs), which cover all the construction value chain, and which meet most of the current market and sustainability needs. These KTs encompass both hardware (9 solutions) and software (7 solutions). They are organised into technology packages and integrated software solutions, applicable both to renovations and new construction.
